Tips to bless your relationship
- Commit to accept the other person is made in God’s image (Gen. 1:26-27) and that Christ died for them (Jn. 3:16). Accepting them doesn’t necessarily mean that you approve of their actions (Phil 2:3-5).
- Value them for God purposes, He wants to form them into the likeness of Christ (Rom. 8:28-30)
- Accept personal responsibility for the relationship. Do not play the blame game. (Prov. 14:16; 15:12, 32; 28:13; Eph. 4:29-31)
- Rejoice and value your differences, always looking for the positive. (Song of Solomon)
- Determine to communicate in a godly manner (Prov. 4:24; 10:11, 19-21, 31-32; 26:20-28)
- Share (Eph. 4:15)
- Listen (James 1:19)
- Talk (Eph. 4:25-27)
- Never assume anything; instead, grow in your understanding of the other (Prov. 3:3-4, 7; 17:27-28; 18:1-2, 13, 15; 19:2)

- Be honest and willing to admit failures and to ask for forgiveness. (Eph. 4:32; James 5:16)
- Accept yourself in Christ (Gal. 2:20; Eph. 1:3-14) so that you are free to love others (1 Cor. 13:4-8)
- Be able to learn the other’s language through words, touch, service, gifts, and time (1 Cor. 13:4-8)
