1 Peter 2:1-12
A Life Centered on Christ vv.1-6
The cornerstone holds everything together.
Our relationship with Christ answers three primary questions: 1) What’s my purpose here?, 2) Where will I go when I die?, 3) Who created everything?
This passage in Colossians answers these questions and it centers us around Christ!
Colossians 1:15-17
How do I make Christ my cornerstone?
v.1 Through conduct
v.2 Through Bible Intake
v.3 Through Service
Do not have the attitude that Jesus Christ is an additional benefit, but that Jesus Christ is life! Many look at Him as a Santa Claus in Heaven, He is God!
A Life Committed to Sharing Christ vv.7-9
v.9 makes it crystal clear that we are to proclaim God’s glory.
I’m encouraged by Paul’s letter to Philemon concerning their friend Onesimus. Paul states in verse 6 of this letter, “and I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ.”
We grow in Christ so much when we share Him. You want to know a little secret? When I was going through school, in order to learn something, I’d stand up and act like I was teaching the material to other students. I learned that way! One of the greatest ways to learn is to teach.
