A Going Church vv. 19-20
Short-term mission trips- brings refreshment to those on the field, it strengthens and affirms the global reach of the gospel, and it blesses the goer. Striving to be an Acts 1:8 church, we want to establish opportunities for local, regional, national, and foreign missions.
A Global Church v.20
We will work toward a Kingdom effort. Meaning our prayer and mission is for a person to know Jesus, grow in Jesus, and go for Jesus. If that means they don’t attend here, that’s ok, if it’s for the Kingdom.
A Growing Church v.21
- Physical Growth- An excitement and zeal for Christ that leads others to invite friends to be a part of the faith family!
- Spiritual Growth- A saving relationship that grows into a thirsty desire to spend time in the Word daily, seek God’s goodness through prayer, and search for ways to give God more glory! The result is Disciples making Disciples!
A Grateful Church vv.22-24
Acts 2:46-47 “And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”
A Gathering Church vv.25-26
- Gathering for fellowship (How important do you believe fellowship is for a church body experiencing persecution?)
- Gathering to be spiritually fed
Acts 2:42 “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”
Hebrews 10:24-25 “24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
Don’t allow Satan to paralyze you. He doesn’t want you to be fed spiritually, he doesn’t want you to grow or have Christian accountability! He wants you to stay busy, and display that Christ is not the priority in your household! Develop these patterns and you’ll see Judges 2:10 “And all that generation also were gathered to their fathers. And there arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord or the work that he had done for Israel.”
We are a gathering church.
A Generous Church vv.29-30
- See the gravity of verses 29-30! These were Gentiles, formally and probably still disliked by the Jewish Christians, who saw the Kingdom mindset to help the Jewish church and come to their aid!
Acts 2:45 “And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.”
