As you walk this day with Christ, be intimately aware of everything He is doing in your midst. Notice the timing of events, conversations that are had, leaves that are falling, color changes with the leaves, provisions that are made… Take notice of the LORD like you would notice your favorite pecan pie, or sweet potato pie prepared especially for you. And as you taste and see that He is good, say like David did. Psalm 139:3 “You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways.”

Psalm 42:1-4 “As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? 3 My tears have been my food day and night, while they say to me all the day long, “Where is your God?” 4 These things I remember, as I pour out my soul: how I would go with the throng and lead them in procession to the house of God with glad shouts and songs of praise, a multitude keeping festival.

Savoring God’s Word
1. Set aside time daily to spend with God in prayer and in His Word away from distractions.
2. Pray and ask God to speak to you through His Word. Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
3. Choose a passage to examine.
4. Underline words that stick out.
5. Ask, what is the author saying to the original audience?
6. How does this apply to my life?
7. What does this passage say about God?
8. What does this passage say about me?
9. What did you learn new in this passage?
10. What should I do differently or change because of this passage?
11. Who needs to hear this passage? 2 Timothy 2:2 “and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”
