Every Believer is a Beacon vv.6-8
A lighthouse has a light with many optic lenses surrounding the light source. The light is the center, and the lenses reflect the source. We are to be reflections of Christ! A beacon of His love, His hope, His salvation to a lost world! Otherwise they’ll hit the rocky shore every-time.
John 12:32 “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”

Who is John the Baptist?
John the Baptist is mentioned like a sandwich in the gospel of John. Jesus is the meat and John is the bread or the additive. He’s important, but not the main focus!
Isaiah 40:3- A voice in the wilderness preparing the way of the Lord.
One who gave Direction
He was Different
One who was Divinely Predetermined
Every Believer is a Bridge vv.19-34
v.29- John the Baptist identifies the one who can save. A believer is to identify the Christ! We are to be a bridge, a conduit of the Holy Spirit that shows others the correct way. A bridge helps people over obstruction.
Helping others find the healer instead of taking credit is contrary to our society. You are helping people believe. The verb believe is stated 98 times in the gospel of John. The word witness (both verb and noun) is stated 6 times in chapter one.
Every Believer is to Bow John 3:25-30
Pride has no place in the gospel.
Make little of the witness, make much of the one you witness about.
1 Timothy 3:6 “He must not be a recent convert, or he may become puffed up with conceit and fall into the condemnation of the devil.”
Romans 12:10 “Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.”
Matthew 20:28 “even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Humility is contrary to our society and a sign of the Holy Spirit.
