Jesus before did not embrace He’s Kingship publicly, but now at the triumphal entry, He embraces it! It’s time, most preferably, time for the crucifixion and resurrection. So the Greeks, intrigued, want to see Jesus. We don’t know whether He ever really got to see them, but His response is the same to anyone who wants to see, serve, and follow Him today. We see His response in verses 24-26.
Death Equals Bearing Much Fruit v.24
If you don’t bear fruit, you’ve never died to self. Agriculturally the seed gives up its former status as a dried piece of grain, and with nutrients it’s transformed into a germinating, root sprouting, leaf possessing organism that will eventually bear fruit. It can’t do anything unless it’s transformed! In a state of setting alone, without nutrients in the ground, it remains the same. No fruit!
This is clearly a statement about the coming death, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus. Nothing is possible without His great sacrifice for us! It’s also a clear picture of what must happen to us!
Die to sin, live for Christ! Paul tells us this beautifully in 2 Corinthians 5:15 “and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.”

Is Christ a comfortable addition to your life or is He the commanding affection of your life?
Serving Jesus Equals Being Honored by God v.26b
Matthew 25:21 “His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.”
When we give everything for Christ, we really gain everything that really matters! Just like a soldier that signs a blank check that says, with payment of my life! Will you do that for Christ? Will you say, with payment of my life?
